BioA young mercenary with a mysterious past. Was part of Geddoe's 12th SFDF and was involved in the second Flame Champion War. He is currently engaged to Aila.

Description: Jacques is of average height, but his slender frame gives him the appearance of being taller. He has blonde hair and light blue eyes, typical of Harmonian first class. His favorite color is blue so he is often seen wearing clothing that bring out his eyes. He still wears his white headband from years ago for he believes it helps with his bow accuracy.
Personality: Quiet and reserved, Jacques is nevertheless quite friendly. He likes to listen to others and have deep conversations. He is very loyal to his friends and also has a strong sense of moral justice. He likes to read and learn about the past through history books and personal accounts. He loves nature, animals, and children because he sees them as innocent creatures that need to be protected. He does not hunt for sport and sees it as a heartless and damnable act.
Weapons: Carries his trusted Great Bow Gun that shoots powerful bolts made from a hard-to-break wood. He is often seen polishing and resetting his bow so that he is ready for battle at any given moment.
Other Abilities: Jacques is a skilled hunter, his travels and time as a mercenary having seasoned him in the way of a vagabond. He is also a good scout, due to his excellent vision.

History:
Originally from Harmonia, Jacques ran away from home at a young age when he discovered that he was adopted from a rich family in Crystal Valley who did not want him. He traveled for many years trying to forget his former life as a studious and well-behaved noble and began training in the ways of the bow gun. Eventually he encountered Geddoe in Caleria who saw his potential and asked him to join as their back-up marksman. Needing money and companionship, Jacques agreed.
He wasn't with the 12th very long before the Second Fire Bringer war broke out but he stuck with the mercenary unit until the end. Afterward, he stayed with the 12th for some time, having formed a strong bond with the group and especially with Aila, who understood his love and connection to nature. With things in the Grasslands and Harmonia falling into a calm, he took a break from the mercenary life and traveled around the world with a man he had met named Julius, a young architect who promised to help him construct a new bowgun. No one is certain what happened between the two but that things ended on a sour note is certain. He returned to Budehuc after that to be with his friends again.
He spent some time there before he and Aila took a trip into the Namelesslands. There, they discovered their strong attraction to one another and started a courtship. Upon their return however, Jacques was called to Harmonia with news of his mother's illness. He was initially resistant to the idea to go, but he finally got up the courage to face his past. Upon arrival, he learned that it was actually his father who was at his death bed. Reconciling at the last minute, Jacques adoptive father told him that his last wish was for Jacques to form a family with the person he loved.
He came back to Aila, telling her of his past and the fact that he couldn't picture his life without her. He proposed and she accepted, the two happy to have found their true love. The wedding was put on hold, however, when Jacques once again called back to Harmonia to sort out his father's will. Three months went by before he was finally able to set off back to Budehuc, but when he returned he discovered that he had actually been gone over a year. Confused and angry, he is trying to find an answer for the time lapse. Aila was strong and was able to cope without knowing if he was still alive for she knew he would one day return. Together again, they look forward to the day they finally join hands in marriage.
